When should I order my cake?
As a general rule I suggest you book two to six months in advance for a wedding cake and one month for a celebration cake, but I can often accommodate last minute requests. Contact your baker ASAP to schedule an appointment.
How much can I expect to pay for my cake?
Cakes generally range depending on the supply's, Re: content, decoration, embellishments and the complexity of the design you select, with a 30 serving minimum for wedding cakes and depending on the number of people you expect there of. Every cake is an individual work of art, depending on the overall decoration you choose. Decorators will work with you to create an unforgettable centerpiece for your occasion
Do you deliver?
Delivery is available for wedding cakes and cakes that require special care in transport and/or onsite assembly. They do delivery and set up if your event location is within a 20 mile radius of their location. An additional charge for gas and time for (round trip) will be required for distances beyond 20 miles. Set up does not include table draping's or decorations.
Do you provide fresh flowers to decorate my cake?
Yes, but at your cost for the flowers, props and supplies required for the arrangement. Any rare or hard to get flowers that you want placed on your cake will need to be ordered from your florist and delivered to me or your event location.
What happens if I have to reschedule my event date?
If you must change your event date bakers will try their best to accommodate you but, they cannot guarantee they will have your new date open.
Isn't it cheaper to get a fake display cake and serve sheet cakes?
No. Styrofoam “dummy cakes” cost just as much as the raw ingredients for a baked cake. The bulk of the cost of your cake is in the decorating and that costs the same no matter what it is on. Then you will be paying for the sheet cakes which cost the same amount as a tiered wedding cake. You will end up paying more for a display cake and kitchen cakes than you would if you ordered the appropriate servings of wedding cake.
Does Fondant taste bad?
No, it tastes like vanilla flavored sugar, all fondant has a chewy effect to it and can easily be peeled away from the cake leaving the underlayment of icing in tack for those not desiring to eat it. Fondant allows for a wonderfully smooth canvas in which to bring your cake to life.
Can we have more than one cake flavor in our cake,
or does it have to all be the same?
Feel free to choose any cake flavor and combination you desire. Decorators do not limit you to one flavor for your whole cake. If you have multiple flavors in your cake, you may want to order more servings since your guests may be inclined to sample more than one flavor.
Where should I showcase the grooms cake?
This cake is usually sat on an opposing table or area of its own if being served the same day as the wedding or sat up at a grooms party in another location prior to the wedding day.
Why are homemade cakes more expensive than grocery stores?
Each individual cake is a labor of love, and the time it takes from beginning to end is primarily what you are getting a custom-designed edible work of art. From the simplest cake with basic decorations taking approximately 10-12 hours to complete, to larger cakes taking a minimum of 40-50 hours to complete, not including the time invested in consultations and design. The costs are comprised of the cost of ingredients, utility's, and supplies such as cake and presentation boards, support structures, cake boxes, etc.. Each cake is also incredibly moist and delicious, because Decorators hold very high standards, and use only the finest ingredients. You can expect your centerpiece to taste as good as it looks.
Special Note: To ensure quality and personalized service, Decorators carefully limit the number of orders accepted. This limitation is based on servings and level of detail required of each cake. Therefore, they can give each cake my fullest attention and provide everyone with a cake that exceeds their expectations both in taste as well as appearance.
